A Fighter Forged by Adversity

Enrique Hecher Sosa de Rada, known as "The Guanche Warrior," was born on August 25, 1995, in Arrecife, Lanzarote. His first dream was to be a soccer player, like many children in the Canary Islands, but a red card in a match changed the course of his life. Frustrated by the violence of soccer, he decided to start training in martial arts, and soon discovered his calling: the octagon awaited him.

From the Streets of Lanzarote to International Podiums

Hecher began with an impressive amateur career: Spanish champion (2017, 2018, 2019), African champion in 2019, and third place in Europe and the world. His aggressive style, versatile on his feet and very solid on the ground, led him to become one of the most promising prospects in MMMA.

In 2020, he turned professional, and his career quickly excelled. He competed throughout Europe, notably in Sweden, Norway, and Finland, until he won the bantamweight belt of Fight Club Rush (FCR). When he returned to Spain, he found his ideal platform to shine in WOW FC, the largest national promoter backed by Ilia Topuria. In Madrid, he won the WOW belt against Yaman 'El Diamante' in just 52 seconds.

September 16, 2025, was, without a doubt, the most difficult and greatest dawn of his life. Hecher faced Mackson Lee, an undefeated Brazilian with nine victories, undefeated and a favorite of betting houses. What no one knew was that a year earlier he had lost his sister to cancer, and just three days before the fight, his father passed away after a long illness.

While cutting weight in Los Angeles, the news arrived. His father, his mentor, would not live to see him fight. Some would have given up. He decided to continue. "Today I fight. Today I keep our word," he declared in a firm voice.

In the octagon of the UFC Apex in Nevada, he won by unanimous decision 30-27 (twice) and 30-26. He dominated all three rounds with intense striking, impeccable takedowns, and ground control. There he not only won a fight: he won the contract that makes him the first Spaniard to enter the UFC through the Contender Series.
